Susan Boyle, the 49-year-old Scottish singing sensation, suffered an embarrassing mishap during a live television appearance on 'The View', yesterday (30th November 2010) after she stopped singing midway through her song and asked "Can we do it again?", reports the UK's Daily Mail.
Boyle began her rendition of the Christmas carol 'O Holy Night' during a live taping of the US chat-show, but viewers saw the singer suddenly begin coughing and clutching her stomach. After leaning away from the microphone, Boyle asked the crew whether they could re-record the performance, seemingly unaware that the show was going out live. Hosts Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg rushed across to where Boyle was standing and the singer remarked, "I'm sorry, I had a bit of a frog in my throat".
Although the mishap was witnessed by east coast viewers, Boyle was able to re-record the song for the rest of the country. Her performance was part of a promotional tour for her second album 'The Gift', which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 last week, with sales increasing by 5 per cent in its second week.
