Take That star Gary Barlow has finally addressed his 2014 tax avoidance scandal by apologising to fans in a tweet.

The multi-millionaire singer/songwriter hit social media on Tuesday (02Sep14) to comment on the drama, which led many U.K. politicians to demand he give back his Most Excellent Order of the British Empire medal (Obe).

The Let Me Go hitmaker refused to comment on the story when it broke in May (14), but now he is hoping to win back his fans by saying sorry.

He wrote, "I want to apologise to anyone who was offended by the tax stories earlier this year.

"With a new team of accountants we are working to settle things with all parties involved Asap (as soon as possible)."

He then tweeted news about his upcoming stage musical and Take That album.
