The winner of ITV1's X Factor, Leona Lewis, has seen in 2007 at the top of the charts.

The 21 year old singer won the reality competition the week before Christmas and, as was expected, spent Christmas at the top of the UK singles chart. Her single reportedly broke a world record by being downloaded by avid X Factor fans 50,000 times in the first 30 minutes it became available online.

Leona's single, A Moment Like This, spent a second week in the top spot as the new year dawned, ending a life-changing year for the shy Leona who worked as a receptionist before finding fame on the popular show.

Take That's chart domination continued as the comeback kings hung onto the number two spot while heavy metal rockers Iron Maiden entered the chart at number three with their new release, Different World.

Both mentored by Simon Cowell, cheeky Liverpudlian Ray Quinn and Leona found themselves battling for the £1 million recording contract in the final of the series alongside celebrity guests Take That and Westlife.

However, the east London lass beat swing singer Ray to the top, receiving 60 per cent of the eight million votes cast by the viewing public.
