Taylor Swift's new album is ''way ahead of schedule''.

The 23-year-old star - who was crowned Artist of the Year for the third time at the American Music Awards at the weekend - is working on her fifth studio album, following the success of 'Red', and is looking forward to her fans giving her their opinion of her new tracks.

She told RollingStone.com: ''I've got a lot of time to write more, but it's really looking promising so far ... It's way ahead of schedule. So I'm really stoked for you to hear it.''

Taylor wants this album to be different from what she has previously produced and is ''obsessed'' with it.

The '22' hitmaker has been quoted as saying: ''I'm so obsessed with where it is right now because I think, for me, the goal is that we start coming upon a sound that's different from everything that we've done before, an identity to a new record.

''Having come upon that so early in the process is just really thrilling.''
