Taylor Swift thinks men are intimidated by her success.

The '22' singer is one of the world's most successful pop stars and is worth a reputed $218 million, and she thinks her fame and status puts some guys off from approaching her.

She told the new UK issue of HELLO! Magazine: ''At least I suppose it might [be intimidating]. It's not like I would look at a guy and say, 'Hey, are you intimidated by me?' I think that would be highly uncool on my part! I tend not to be the one to start conversations with guys, anyway. I'm a little more old-fashioned than that.

''I assume that if someone is interested in me they will come up and talk to me - and if they want to call me up afterwards, then they will.''

The 23-year-old musician - whose last serious relationship was with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles - is trying not to focus on finding love, and is hoping she meets her 'Mr. Right' naturally.

She said: ''I try not to wishfully think my way into relationships - or maybe I should say I'm trying not to do that any more.''

Taylor has been in a number of high-profile relationships with famous men, including Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and Taylor Lautner, and is famous for using her break-ups to inspire her songs.

The star finds it easier to write about heartache than her feelings when she's in love because she's too busy enjoying the excitement of a new relationship to catalogue the experience.

She explained: ''I do tend to write more songs when I have a broken heart, though, because when you're in love, you're just so fascinated by the fact you're in love that you don't take the time to write down everything that you're feeling.''
