Jack Black is set to star in 'How to Survive A Robot Uprising'.

The 41-year-old actor and 'Hot Tub Time Machine' director Steve Pink have picked up the rights to the original book by Daniel H. Wilson with a view to Black taking a starring role.

The Script is currently being written by Pink and any final decisions on the project - which was once considered for 'Austin Powers' star Mike Myers - will be made once it is complete, io9.com reports.

'How to Survive A Robot Uprising' is a satirical advice book released in 2005 about what to do when robots rebel against human masters - although some of the advice is based on scientific fact.

Best known for his comedy roles in 'The School Of Rock' and 'Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny', Jack will next be seen in the eagerly anticipated Rob Letterman movie 'Gulliver's Travels' alongside Emily Blunt and Jason Segal.
