Anti-piracy police in Los Angeles have convicted the first man caught recording a movie in a California cinema.

RUBEN MORENO, 34, has been placed on three years probation and will serve 42 days in jail after he was caught taping The Alamo at a cinema in Chatsworth.

Moreno was spotted illegally taping the movie, which stars Dennis Quaid and Billy Bob Thornton, by a cinema staff member wearing night-vision goggles.
