Veteran British punk act The Alarm are to have their recent UK chart scam turned into a major film.

The Alarm scored their first hit in over 20 years in February (04), after they disguised themselves as a younger group.

45 RPM became a top 30 hit for THE POPPYFIELDS, who were actually young Welsh group THE WAYRIDERS lip-synching to The Alarm.

Sara Sugarman has now agreed with lifelong friend and Alarm frontman MIKE PETERS to direct the movie, after Shrek producer John Williams coincidentally approached her simultaneously.

Peters says, "I said to John Williams, I've got this old friend from home who works in movies out here now.

"I think she'd be great to direct it. When I said it was Sara, he couldn't believe it. He'd already arranged a meeting for the next week to discuss the idea with her."
