The Boxer Rebellion Release New Single 'Keep Moving' Plus 2013 Fall Tour
London-based indie-rock quartet The Boxer Rebellion have announced the release of its new single titled "Keep Moving." Taken from the band's well-received new full-length album, Promises, "Keep Moving" follows the album's first single, "Diamonds," and is the band's weary but optimistic ode to struggling love, lifted by frontman Nathan Nicholson's soaring falsetto. Promises is The Boxer Rebellion's uplifting and cinematic follow-up to their critically-acclaimed album The Cold Still and was produced in conjunction with notable producer Billy Bush in Los Angeles in early 2013.
Additionally, the band has recently announced another tour of the U.S. for October. Beginning in Austin, TX on Wednesday, October 16, the tour will take in nine evenings and will visit markets such as Dallas, TX on October 18, San Diego, CA on October 19, Santa Ana, CA on October 20, Colorado Springs, CO on October 22, Kansas City, MO on October 25, St. Louis, MO on October 26, Nashville, TN on October 27 and culminate in a performance at Vinyl in Atlanta, GA on October 29. The Boxer Rebellion has also recently announced its largest UK headline show to date, a performance at the legendary venue The Forum on October 11. Tickets for the upcoming tour are now on sale through the band's official website
The Boxer Rebellion took to their London rehearsal space and transformed it into a recording studio where the songs for Promises would eventually come together over the last 18 months. Moving away from the more analog and darker soundscapes that enveloped the band's previous album, Promises is a significant step in a different direction for the London four-piece - a hi-fi, soaring piece of work that truly delivers on the band's epic, signature sound, and individual skill as musicians. From the retro-glossiness of the album's opener, "Diamonds," to the wall-of-sound that is "Fragile," to the towering beauty of "Low," "New York" and "Dream," Promises presents itself as an evolution in aesthetic - diverse in soundscapes but singular in grand ambition - for a band that continues to push and explore its creative ability with each new release.
