Folk stars The Civil Wars have announced plans for a new album after working through the "internal discord" issues which prompted the cancellation of their European tour last year (12).
Bandmates John Paul White and Joy Williams were partway through their run of shows in November (12) when they called off the remainder of the dates, citing "irreconcilable differences of ambition".
The duo insisted they hoped to have new music to release in 2013, and on Wednesday (01May13), they confirmed a new Civil Wars album will soon hit shelves.
A post on the band's Facebook.com page reads, "Hello all: once again, we are most grateful for your continued support and patience. We are pleased to announce that a brand new album will be released soon."
In a message uploaded to their website, Williams adds, "I am very glad to say that new music is coming and I am finally proud of this album. A lot of soul, sweat and tears went into its creation. I hope you feel the heart in each song, that it might connect with yours. We are, each one of us, all journeying, learning and growing along this ever-evolving path."
