The Damned drummer RAT SCABIES is the unlikely subject in a new book about the search for the Holy Grail.

The punk icon and pal CHRIS DAWES spent much of 2003 in France and Scotland looking for clues in a bid to find the mythical goblet, which is believed to be the chalice used by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper.

Upon the duo's return, Dawes decided to write all about their exploits in new book RAT SCABIES AND THE HOLY GRAIL.

Of their quest, Scabies tells US magazine Blender, "When I was poking about in the basement of Rosslyn Chapel (possible Scottish Holy Grail site), I found a metallic cup, hidden in a cupboard... and I put it back."
