Warner Bros.' The Dark Knight Rises fought off the Olympics and two new movies to remain at the top of the box office over the weekend for the third week in a row. The final installment of Christopher Nolan's trilogy wound up with $35.7 million, according to final figures from Warner Bros. That brought its total after 17 days in release to $353.9 million. Meanwhile, Sony's Total Recall , which had been expected to mount a strong challenge to the Batman movie turned out to be weaker than supposed, as it debuted with $25.6 million. Another newcomer, Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days opened right on target with $14.6 million -- weaker than the first two films in the franchise, which opened in March with little serious competition. Overall, the box office was down 28 percent from the same weekend a year ago, when Rise of the Planet Of The Apes opened with $54.8 million.
