Ratings for the outgoing shows of the summer and incoming shows for The Fall continued to show weakness this week. Particularly disappointing was the significant downturn of ratings for The X Factor , which, despite a major overhaul that included the addition of Britney Spears to the judging panel, came in well below the numbers for last season's opener. Wednesday's edition attracted 8.47 million viewers, losing out to NBC's The Voice, which registered 10.66 million in a head-to-head battle. Thursday's edition did no better, drawing 8.25 million viewers as it aired opposite the finale of NBC's America's Got Talent, which recorded 10.51 million. AGT also was down significantly from its final broadcast last season. Also Fox's returning Glee saw significant ratings erosion from last year, with a season debut of 8.09 million viewers.
