Victoria Beckham asked for a 25 per cent discount card when she went supermarket shopping.

The Fashion designer - who, along with soccer star husband David, is worth a reported £160 million - was buying goods from Los Angeles store Ralph's over the weekend and before she went to pay, she asked her bodyguard to give his details to a shop assistant so they could get money off.

Victoria, who was also accompanied by four-month-old daughter Harper, spent 20 minutes on the shop and picked up toilet paper, pretzels and a thank you card and staff were impressed with how grounded she was.

One Ralph's employee is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper: "We loved having Victoria in the store. All the staff were going crazy when she left. She was really nice and very down to earth. We were shocked when she asked for a 25 per cent discount card but it's nice to see she's just as normal as everyone else, though.

"We were all falling around with laughter as she could afford to buy everything in this shop in one fell swoop."

However, the 37-year-old star - who also has three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, and six-year-old Cruz, with David - isn't as frugal when it comes to shopping for her children.

The former Spice Girls star is currently in New York with baby Harper and the mother and daughter duo were spotted splashing the cash in the city's iconic toy store FAO Schwarz.
