Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have splashed out on a six bedroom house in Los Angeles.

The couple - who are based in London, England, with their children Apple, eight, and six-year-old Moses - are said to have paid close to the $10.45 million asking price for the property, which also has eight bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and a stable block built into the tree-lined grounds.

The house was built by famed architect Windsor Smith in 2011 and was initially listed for $11.96 million last September before being reduced recently.

In October 2011, the 8,000 square foot property covered Veranda magazine, with the publication calling in a host of big-name interior designers to give the house a makeover.

Although Martyn Lawrence's ''Studio 54-Halston vibe'' media room appears to have gone, many of The Features introduced appear to remain in recent pictures of the property.

These include an extra-wide entry hall with flooring made from stones from a Peruvian schoolhouse, kitchen cabinetry inspired by sycamore trees, Calacatta-marble kitchen countertops and a master dressing room with bathtub in the middle.
