Swedish rocker The Hives are seeking inspiration for their new album from a school for "criminal youngsters".

The well-dressed outfit are hard at work on the follow-up to their debut longplayer YOUR NEW FAVOURITE BAND, and are taking unconventional measures in a bid to achieve the desired sound.

Singer HOWLIN' PELLE ALMQVIST says, "We've been in an industry laboratory and we've been in a school for, I'm serious, a school for criminal youngsters.

"I've said that it was half Kraftwerk and half Sex Pistols. It might be a bit stiffer than the last record. The songs are just the best songs we could ever get our hands on and then it's up to how we play them."
