The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers was so overwhelmed when New Order bassist Peter Hook approached him for a photograph, he locked lips with his hero.

New Order were seated next to The Killers at the NME AWARDS in London in February (05), and Hook took the opportunity to ask Flowers to pose for his camera after the charismatic singer generously replenished the veteran band's supply of Diet Coke.

However, unbeknownst to Hook - who was trying to acquire a picture of Flowers for his son - the MR BRIGHTSIDE star cites New Order as one of The Killers' leading inspirations, and expressed his enthusiasm for the band by kissing the British musician.

Hook says, "We were at the NME Awards, and we were seated next to The Killers. Brandon was there and he gave me a drink of Diet Coke, which was very nice of him, 'cause we had run out.

"I went over to him because my son is a huge fan of theirs, and said, 'Do you mind if I get a picture 'cause my son is a huge fan?' Then he kissed me - but not with tongue - and said, 'Oh man, I am a huge fan of your music.'"
