The Kinks have dismissed reports suggesting the band is set to reunite without former singer and guitarist Dave Davies for an upcoming 50th anniversary get together.
Ray Davies recently hinted that a reunion would move forward with or without his estranged sibling.
He told Britain's Mojo magazine, "Dave's invited to the party, but if he doesn't want to do it (reunion), it will happen anyway. He's very welcome to turn up if he wants. I'd much rather work with him than without him."
But now the band has issued a statement, suggesting Ray's comments were misquoted by the publication.
A message on the group's Facebook.com page reads: "Mojo is wrong. There will be NO Kinks reunion without BOTH Ray and Dave Davies. Ray Davies claims to have never said this."
