The Libertines reunion has moved a step closer to fruition - Carl Barat is planning to discuss the group's imminent revival with former bandmate Pete Doherty.
The rockers famously fell out over Doherty's excessive drug use, before the singer was booted out of the band in 2004.
Barat went on to form rock group Dirty Pretty Things while Doherty put together Babyshambles - but the pair sparked speculation they will reform their original band after reportedly signing a new record deal last year (09).
The Libertines were rumoured to be planning a 2011 comeback - but the musicians have not yet discussed the plans in full, although Barat is keen to set the reunion in motion so he can give it his "all."
He says, "I sent him (Doherty) a text a couple of weeks ago, but he never got back. If things are looking good that'll be nice. I guess I'll have to have a chat to Pete about it - he wanted to do it sooner but we missed all the dates. I'm sure there's going to be some hostility towards it, but if it doesn't work out at least I've given it my all."
