The Mummy remake is looking for a new director daddy - Andres Muschietti has reportedly quit the project.

The Mama filmmaker picked up the reigns of the action adventure movie after Len Wiseman dropped the project due to his busy schedule and now movie executives at Universal Pictures appear to be on the hunt for another director.

According to TheWrap.com, Muschietti and the producers had a difference of opinion about the direction of the new film and the Argentine moviemaker wanted to make the story more of a horror tale than a family-friendly blockbuster.

Universal bosses are still hoping their new The Mummy will be in cinemas in April, 2016.
