The Roots drummer Ahmir '?Uestlove' Thompson has been left stunned by the death of R&B singer Vesta Williams, because he had an eerie desire to play one of her songs "out of the blue" on the same day her body was found in Los Angeles.
The Congratulations star, who achieved chart success throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, was found dead in a hotel room on Thursday (22Sep11). The cause of death has yet to be determined.
The sad news broke online on Friday morning (23Sep11) and Thompson admits he was left dumbstruck by the haunting urge he had felt hours earlier to listen to her track Don't You Blow A Good Thing.
In a post on Twitter.com, the celebrity DJ and drummer writes, "Yesterday 8am Had a craving to hear this song. Was gonna spin it for a gig. Out The Blue. now i know why. Rip Vesta."
