Euthanasia drama The Sea Inside (MAR ADENTRO) won a staggering 14 trophies at Spain's annual GOYA AWARDS last night (30JAN05).

Alejandro Amenabar's true story of a man wanting to end his life with dignity after a diving accident leaves him paralysed, is also favourite to win Best Foreign Language Film at next month's (FEB05) Oscars.

At the star-studded ceremony in Madrid last night, Amenabar won Best Director, while the film's stars Javier Bardem and Lola Duenas picked up the Best Actor and Best Actress accolades.

Other notable victories handed out by the ACADEMY OF CINEMATIC ARTS AND SCIENCES included Best Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Newcomer Actor and Actress, Photography, Script, Music and Make-up.
