The Sisters Of Mercy have apologised to fans in New Zealand after postponing plans to perform in the country for the first time.
The British band was due to head Down Under to perform at the Soundwave Festival in Australia next month (Sep11) but the event was called off earlier this week (09Aug11).
As a result, the Temple of Love hitmakers have decided to axe a gig scheduled for the 22 September (11) in Auckland, New Zealand.
A statement from the band reads, "We were very sorry to learn this week that the Soundwave Revolution 2011 festival in Australia has been cancelled by the promoter...
"Unfortunately, this means that we have to also postpone our gig in Auckland, New Zealand, as well. Sorry about that."
But the group hopes to return eventually, adding: "We are now looking at coming to Australia and New Zealand another time. We'll let you know when."
