The creators of hit TV show The Sopranos are being sued by the widow of a Florida mob boss for allegedly basing their drama on her family's life.

LYNDA MILITO is convinced the characters of CARMELLA SOPRANO, played by Edie Falco, and husband Tony Soprano, played by James Gandolfini, are modelled on her and her late husband LOUIE MILITO, claiming the show bears too many similarities to be a coincidence.

She is demanding "fair compensation" from cable network HBO (Home Box Office), as well as from the production company and the series' writers.

Milito has already written two books based on her turbulent crime life - MAFIA WIFE: MY STORY OF LOVE, MURDER AND MADNESS and MAFIA WIDOW.
