Kate Winslet thinks her clothes make her 'Insurgent' character ''cattier and nastier''.

The 39-year-old actress reprises her role as Jeanine in the sequel to dystopian thriller 'Divergent' and believes her wardrobe makes her villainous alter ego even more ''villainous''.

She said: ''It's been really nice being able to wear all the cut, fitted dresses that help create such an intimidating villain. It's made Jeanine feel much more powerful, cattier and nastier.''

'Insurgent' sees Jeanine doing her best to take down anyone in her way and Kate is fascinated by the dynamic between her character and Shailene Woodley's Tris.

She said: ''Tris and Jeanine's relationship has become a power game.

''Jeanine has a very bizarre and uncomfortable fascination with and admiration for Tris.''

While Jeanine may stand in Tris' way, Shailene insists nothing will stop her in her quest for justice.

She told People magazine: ''She's fueled by the demons that haunt her.

''The loss of her parents and her friend [Will] make her feel like she is unstoppable in her quest for justice.''

Octavia Spencer has joins the cast as Johanna, an Amity leader who helps Tris and Four (Theo James) in their fight and Shailene thinks she was a great addition to the movie.

She gushed: ''She brought such fierce, strong, compelling female energy to the set.''

'Insurgent' is released in cinemas on March 20.
