Tom Hiddleston has revealed he and Chris Hemsworth had to rely on director Kenneth Branagh when they were shooting their green screen scenes in 'Thor'.
Tom Hiddleston has praised 'Thor' director Kenneth Branagh for masterminding the movie's green screen scenes.
The 30-year-old actor admits it was difficult for him and Chris Hemsworth - who portrays the titular superhero - to shoot the scenes without any sets, but Kenneth steered them through by talking to them through an earpiece.
Tom - who plays villain Loki in the film, which is based on the Marvel comic book series - told BANG Showbiz: "The great thing about having Ken is he was always on hand with the microphone quite often literally painting the picture on our behalf.
"So in the ice planet we would be walking along brilliant sets of iceflows, surrounded by green screens and Ken would say, 'Go to your left there's an ice tower crumbling into pieces to your right there are Shadows; frost giants can come out of there any time, you're excited, you're freezing cold, you're terrified,' it really helped."
Despite the difficulties post-production CGI effects can cause, Tom insists he loved portraying Loki because he had so many super powers.
He said: "I 'got' to do all kinds of crazy things that should go on under the special skills on my resume - like self-duplicate, disappear, reappear, flying through the air."
