Tim Burton - Broadway Adaptation Of Tim Burton's Big Fish To Close Early
The 2003 movie, which was based on Daniel Wallace's 1998 novel, was transformed for the stage earlier this year (13), but bosses have decided to bring the run to an end on 29 December (13).
Directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman and starring Broadway veteran Norbert Leo Butz, Big Fish cost nearly $14 million (£8.7 million) to produce, but has suffered a recent fall in box office sales after a promising start.
The show began previews on 5 September (13), and will have played 98 shows by the time it closes its doors. Albert Finney and Ewan MCGregor starred in Burton's 2003 big screen imagining of the tale.
