Country star Tim Mcgraw is considering swapping celebrity for politics after being approached to run for Governor of Tennessee.

The fervent Democrat admits he is interested in the job and may run for office at some point in the future.

He tells men's magazine Esquire, "I think it's something I'd do well. I just think, as governor of the state, there would be a lot more opportunities to make some decisions and change some things."

The singer, 38, who is married to country queen Faith Hill, told America's Time magazine in 2004 that he'd launch a political career when he turned 50.
