Katy Perry's new single 'E.T' has reached number-one on the Billboard Hot 100, ending Lady GaGa's six week reign at the top of the chart.
Katy Perry's new single 'E.T' has finally reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after seven weeks in the chart. The song has received an increased amount of airplay in the past week and looks set to remain at number-one for some time, reports MTV News.Lady Gaga's smash-hit single 'Born This Way' has dominated the chart since its release in February 2011, but the song has now slipped to number-four. Elsewhere in the chart, Wiz Khalifa followed up his smash hit 'Black and Yellow' by storming into the top ten with his new track 'No Sleep'. The rapper, whose song 'Roll Up' still sits at number 29, recently released his major label debut album 'Rolling Papers'. Controversial R&B star Chris Brown saw his song 'Next to You' debut strongly at number 26, just in front of Tinie Tempah's 'Written in the Stars', which is being used as the theme song to this year's WrestleMania.
Katy Perry is currently in the UK performing on her 'California Dreams' tour. She is scheduled to play shows in Bournemouth, Cardiff, Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow and London. The video for 'E.T' is set to premiere on Mtv tonight (31st March 2011).
