Tippi Hedren - Tippi Hedren's Coat On Display At Museum
The actress famously turned heads at the 1963 Cannes Film Festival in France when she arrived at the film's premiere on the arm of Hitchcock wearing the eye-catching white coat, fashioned by Hollywood costume designer Edith Head.
Now the garment, which Hedren also wore to the London unveiling of the creepy classic, has been acquired by bosses of the Newbridge Silverware Museum of Style Icons in Dublin, where it will be permanently displayed.
Hedren says, "I am thrilled beyond words that Newbridge has acquired the magnificent white satin evening coat designed by the fabulous Edith Heard I wore for opening night at the Cannes Film Festival where Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds was the opening big event.
"I, and my amazing friend Edith Head, will rest easy knowing this beautiful creation will be appreciated in the very elegant surroundings for generations of movie lovers to come."
