Kevin Costner, Tom Berenger and Bill Paxton have taken a trip back in time to shoot period drama Hatfields & Mccoys in Romania, even though the real-life tale is set in West Virginia.
Costner, who is producing and starring in the American Civil War drama, admits it was actually cheaper taking the cast and crew to Eastern Europe and filming there than trying to shoot in America.
He says, "That's a fact of movie life right now, it's a fact of economics."
And co-star Paxton tells TV news show Extra he is loving the location in the Romanian mountains, where time appears to have stood still.
He adds, "We're filming in a place where you still see oxen and horses drawing carriages full of corn husks. It really feels like, 'Is it 2011 or is it the 1870s in Appalachia?'"
