Tom Hanks had fluid drained from his elbow on Thursday (13Jun13) after discovering he was suffering from Bursitis.

The two-time Oscar winner posted video footage of a doctor filling up two syringes of bloody fluid on footage-sharing website Whosay.com hours after showing off his swollen elbow on Twitter.com and asking followers if they thought he should have it "looked at".

Talking fans through the simple procedure, the actor, who is currently starring in Broadway play Lucky Guy, said, "My elbow is being drained... I don't feel a thing... Two syringes, how about that, double-barrelled... Look at that, baby!"

Bursitis is the inflammation of one or more bursae (small sacs) of synovial fluid in the body, commonly caused by repetitive movement and excessive pressure.
