Troubled actor Tom Sizemore appeared in a Los Angeles court yesterday (22JUN05) to deny claims he falsified a urine test for drugs.

The BLACK HAWK DOWN star, 43, is accused of failing to report to his probation officer or notify authorities of his new residence, as well as his absence at scheduled drug rehabilitation counselling sessions.

Drug counsellor DAVID ARONEK alleged in May (05) Sizemore attempted to fake a drug test by using a prosthetic penis filled with narcotic-free urine.

When the actor returned two days later to give a subsequent sample, he displayed symptoms of "speed psychosis", including rapid speech, profuse sweating and jittery behaviour, Aronek claimed.

Sizemore denies all the claims, saying, "I have been clean and sober and they are pandering to the city attorney."

The Michigan-native was sentenced in March (05) to 17 months in jail and more than four months in drug treatment for repeatedly failing drug tests while on probation.

Superior Court Judge ANTONIO BARRETO JR gave Sizemore the permission to remain free while he appeals a 2003 domestic violence conviction against his ex-girlfriend, former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss.

Sizemore faces a possible prison term of three years if the judge finds he violated probation. The actor's hearing will continue tomorrow (24JUN05).
