Lady GaGa will perform at the switching on of the Christmas lights at New York's Rockefeller Center next month, fulfilling a childhood dream.
Lady GaGa will turn on the Christmas lights at New York's Rockefeller Center.
The 'Bad Romance' hitmaker will join a number of other stars, including crooner Tony Bennett - with who she recently recorded an album, 'Cheek to Cheek' - to perform at the switching on of the festive lights at the iconic building in New York City on December 3.
She wrote on Twitter: ''Doing the Tree Lighting w/Tony as my friend & collaborator is an unimaginable early xmas present. I'm the luckiest NY girl there ever was (sic).''
The 28-year-old star - who was born and raised in New York's Manhattan - confessed she is looking forward to the special performance as it's something she's dreamed of doing ever since she was a child.
She said: ''It's been my dream since I was a little NY baby to sing at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting. Every year I wanted to go with hot coco. (sic)''
Replying to a message posted by a US news outlet revealing she is to ''light up Rockefeller'', she added: ''Can't wait to sing with @itstonybennett (sic).''
The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is seen as a worldwide symbol of the holiday season in New York and its lighting for the first time this year will be marked by a number of live performances before it is turned off on January 7 next year.
Meanwhile, Gaga recently admitted to drinking whiskey to relax around Tony when she first began working with the jazz legend on their album.
She previously: ''The second we were in the studio together, it was so magical. We were bouncing improvisation off each other and we were laughing. I was keeping a whiskey under my stool because I was very nervous to be around him.''
