British prime minister Tony Blair hailed pop legends Eurythmics at the second annual UK Music Hall Of Fame ceremony in London last night (16NOV05).

Blair recorded a video message honouring duo Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, and revealed how their 1983 release SWEET DREAMS inspired the start of his political career.

He said: "It was just completely new, a different sound. They're two remarkable people. Very talented, very original."

Music legends The Who, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, New Order, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, JOY DIVISION, The Kinks, Aretha Franklin and late DJ John Peel were also honoured at the ceremony.
