Tony Hawk has filed for divorce from his third wife LHOTSE MERRIAM after five years of marriage.
TONY HAWK, the 42-year-old professional skateboarder, filed the divorce papers in North San Diego County, California, on Friday (4th February 2011).The couple, who are the parents of 2-year-old daughter Kadence Clover, told US Magazine in a joint statement, "We have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. We remain deeply committed and loving parents to our daughter, and out of respect for that responsibility we ask that people honor our family's privacy during this important time of transition. Thank you for your understanding". Hawk wed the lingerie store owner back in January 2006 during an intimate ceremony in Fiji. The skateboarder gained significant fame for being the first person to complete a '900' degree aerial spin and he later released his 'Tony Hawk' range of video games, which are amongst the biggest selling sports titles in the world.
In 2007, Hawk founded the charity 'Athletes for Hope' with Andre Agassi, Muhammad Ali, Lance Armstrong and several other sports-stars. The organisation helps professional athletes get involved with charitable causes and aims to inspire people to volunteer in their communities.
