A new musical featuring Tupac Shakur's hits is heading to Broadway.

Holler If Ya Hear Me - about two childhood friends facing life on the streets - is set to include tracks recorded by the tragic hip-hop star, who was shot and killed in 1996.

The California Love hitmaker's mother Afeni Shakur has signed on as a producer, while Kenny Leon is attached to direct the non-biographical production, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A premiere date has not yet been set, although the show could be staged as early as this autumn (13).
