Twin Peaks - Angelo Badalamenti To Be Honoured By Ascap
Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti is to be honoured with the 2011 Henry Mancini Award at the upcoming American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Film and Television Music Awards.
Director David Lynch will lead a tribute to Badalamenti and present him with his latest accolade at a Beverly Hills gala on 23 June (11).
The Henry Mancini Award is awarded to composers in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music.
Previous recipients include Quincy Jones, Randy Newman, James Newton Howard, Howard Shore and Hans Zimmer.
Composer Alf Clausen will also be honoured at the event - he'll receive the prestigious Ascap Golden Note Award, which is presented to songwriters, composers and artists who have achieved extraordinary career milestones. Past recipients include Mark Snow, Andre Previn, Garth Brooks, Jay Z, Tom Petty and Stevie Wonder.
