Green Day stunned audience members at a performance of their Broadway musical AMERICAN IDIOT - by jumping on the stage at the end of the show for an impromptu gig.
The production, which is based around the group's 2004 album of the same name, opened in New York on Tuesday night (20Apr10).
And ticket-holders at Thursday night's (22Apr10) performance were given an extra-special treat after the curtain fell at the end of the show - the rockers leaped on to the stage and straight into a rendition of the title track.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told the delighted crowd, "This is my first night on Broadway."
The band played one more song, Basket Case - from their third album, Dookie - before taking a final bow with the cast.
They received a standing ovation from the audience, which included U2 star The Edge and Armstrong's wife and children.
