Una Healy has officially confirmed to Hello! Magazine that her forthcoming child is a girl; the news follows the announcement in September that she and rugby playing boyfriend Ben Foden were expecting their first child together. The Saturdays member, who was looking positively blooming when switching on the Oxford Street, London Christmas lights at the beginning of the month, also went into further detail on the pregnancy with the magazine.
"I come from a family of girls, I went to an all-girls school and I'm in a girl band, so I guess it's fitting that I'm having a daughter", Healy said, with boyfriend Foden adding, "We weren't trying for a baby. But we'd talked about starting a family and we're in a loving and committed relationship, so it wasn't a massive shock. I was over the moon. I plan on spending the rest of my life with Una." With a disappointing Rugby World Cup behind him - England were knocked out in the quarter-finals at the hands of France - the 26 year old can now turn his focus back towards his forthcoming fatherhood now he's at home playing the domestic season.
Healy's busy with work too, The Saturdays have an upcoming tour, but she was bullish about performing with her new arrival expected in March, saying "I've been quite surprised that people have said, 'How will you do this tour?' Naturally I'll be careful and I'd never do anything that would put our baby at risk. But I'm pregnant, not ill. Loads of women continue to work through their pregnancies and this is my job, so why wouldn't I carry on doing what I love - especially when I feel so well."
