Jermaine Dupri, the American music producer and ex-boyfriend of Janet Jackson, is being sued by an Atlanta woman over missed child support payments. Jermaine Dupri took a paternity test earlier this year and was ordered to pay Sarai Jones $2,500 a month and an additional $7,500, reports Associated Press.
The multi-millionaire producer is now being sued by Jones for missing the child support payments. The 38-year-old is also facing financial troubles, with his mansion almost being auctioned off last week before the sale was cancelled at the last minute. He reportedly owes the state of Georgia more than $493,000 in back taxes for 2007. Sarai Jones' attorney Randy Kessler said that his client hopes she and Dupri can "work together to co-parent their beautiful baby girl". Based on his 2006 income, Forbes estimated that Dupri was one of the biggest earners in hip-hop, taking home an estimated $12 million. His lawyer James Kane has so far declined to comment on the missed payments to Jones.
Jermaine Dupri, who has produced hit records for the likes of Usher and Mariah Carey, had a seven year relationship with Janet Jackson before their parted ways last year.
