Vanessa Hudgens is in talks for 'The Kitchen Sink'.

'The Frozen Ground' star is in early negotiations to join the cast of Sony's zombie comedy, while Denis Leary - who recently starred in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' - has also been added.

According to TheWrap.com, the movie, which has been compared to 2009 comedy 'Zombieland' starring Emma Stone, follows a group of teenagers who form an unlikely alliance with vampires and zombies to take on an army of aliens.

Hudgens would play a popular teen who faces conflict when the extraterrestrials invade her small town, which counts Leary's character among its wealthiest and smartest of residents.

The actor's 'Amazing Spider-Man' co-star Chris Zylka is tipped to join the cast, along with Nicholas Braun, Mackenzie Davis and Josh Fadem.

The production is shaping up nicely with 'Natural Selection' director Robert Pickering heading up the film based on a script by Oren Uziel.

Uziel was recently hired by Sony to write the latest instalment of another alien franchise - 'Men in Black 4' - and has also been tapped to rewrite the script for Channing Tatum's comedy sequel, '22 Jump Street'.
