David and Victoria Beckham have donated thousands of pounds worth of luxury items to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

The ex-footballer and his fashion designer wife have given 20 boxes full of clothes and shoes to a Red Cross charity shop in West London, and Victoria has taken to Twitter and Instagram to publicise her support for the cause.

She wrote: ''Proud to support British Red Cross #ShopDrop Donating clothes for #Haiyan survivors (sic).''

The former Spice Girl also posted a number of photos of her organising her shoe collection and boxing up pairs ready to donate to the Red Cross relief effort.

The cyclone claimed the lives of over 4,000 people in the Philippines earlier this month and Victoria is urging people across the United Kingdom to help the victims of Haiyan as much as they possibly can.

Members of the public were queuing up outside the charity shop in Chelsea to get their hands on garments that have been worn by the famous couple, and with all proceeds going towards those struggling to get back on their feet in the Philippines, it's for a good cause.

The fashion icons' donations are expected to raise thousands of pounds for the relief effort.
