Victoria Beckham, the 36-year-old singer and fashion designer who has confirmed that she is expecting her fourth child with husband David Beckham, has thanked fans on her Twitter page for their messages of congratulations, reports OK Magazine. The couple have hinted in recent weeks that they are ready to extend their family, and they officially announced the news yesterday (9th January 2011).
A spokeswoman for the Beckhams said that the couple were "naturally delighted" with news that they are expecting a new brother or sister for their three sons Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz. The likes of Amanda Holden and Kylie Minogue had left congratulatory messages on Victoria's Twitter page, as had thousands of fans, and the 36-year-old responded today by posting a message that read, "Thank u so much for your kind and beautiful messages!!!we are all so happy and very excited!!!!!!x vb x" David also used the Internet to air his delight, posting a message on his Facebook page that read, "I've got some great news to tell you all. Victoria and I are expecting our fourth child this summer. The boys are very excited about the arrival of a new brother or sister."
Only time will tell whether Victoria gives birth to her first girl, and speaking in a forthcoming issue of 'Vogue', she said, "I'd love to have a girl - just for all the clothes I've got to hand down. Maybe one day another baby, but at this stage I think the chances of a girl are quite slim".
