Dame Vivienne Westwood has proclaimed that people are more badly dressed now than at any other point in history. The fashion designer made this claim while launching her new Red Label collection at London's Fashion Week.
Speaking to reporters, she said: 'People have never looked so ugly as they do today.' the designer continued 'Everybody looks like clones and the only people you notice are my age.'
'I don't notice anybody unless they look great, and every now and again they do, and they are usually 70.''I'm a fashion designer and people think 'what do I know?' but I'm talking about all this disposable crap. I'm saying buy less, choose well, make it last."
Westwood's new collection showed off typically British designs, such as checked skirts and jackets, which were matched with tribal tattoos. Westwood is well known for bringing punk and new wave fashions onto the catwalk and her designs have been worn by celebrities and royalty alike, including Naomi Campbell and Princess Eugenie; the latter wearing a dress designed by Westwood for the Royal Wedding in 2011.
