Warren Beatty's attempt to secure the rights to the DICK TRACY comic book character continues to drag on after a US federal court hearing ended without a ruling. The 69-year-old actor/director wants to make a sequel to his 1990 movie of the same name but has been hindered by Tribune Media Services, who claim they own the film rights to the character. Beatty, who argues he owns the rights following a deal he made in 1985, sued Tribune Media Services last year (05). But on Monday (03APR06) a New York judge didn't indicate when he would make a ruling on the matter.
