Irish boyband Westlife have returned to the top of the British singles charts with YOU RAISE ME UP today (30OCT05), after a one year absence.

The FLYING WITHOUT WING foursome have enjoyed 13 number ones since their debut single SWEAR IT AGAIN went straight to the top of the charts in May 1999.

Last week's (23OCT05) top track I BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR by rock newcomers ARCTIC MONKEYS slipped to second place, while PUSH THE BUTTON by Brit pop trio Sugababes moved from two to three.

Kate Bush made a long-awaited return to the charts after 12 years in the pop wilderness, with KING OF THE MOUNTAIN at four, while ROBBIE WILLIAMS' TRIPPING moved from four to five.

Other new entries in the singles chart include Hilary Duff's WAKE UP and BACKSTREET BOYS' JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW at numbers seven and eight respectively.

Meanwhile, Williams' sixth studio album INTENSIVE CARE went to straight to the top of the album charts, pushing THE Prodigy's singles collection THEIR LAW into the number two spot.
