Irish boyband Westlife have hit out at fellow countryman Pierce Brosnan after he attacked them for making an album of Rat Pack covers.

The former JAMES BOND star claimed pop groups shouldn't try to copy the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.

But the fourpiece - whose new LP ALLOW US TO BE FRANK hit shops earlier this month (NOV04) - are unrepentant.

Singer SHANE FILAN says, "I really don't give a s**t what he thinks.

"It's not up to Pierce Brosnan what we do.

"We decided to cover the Rat Pack because it is a little bit different and exciting for the fans."
