THE White Stripes are being sued by a music producer who claims he helped the group create its signature sound. Detroit-based JIM DIAMOND - who is credited as a co-producer on the band's eponymous debut album - has filed a lawsuit at US District Court for royalties for his efforts on The White Stripes first two albums. Jack and Meg White have rejected Diamond's claims, insisting in court documents the producer was paid $35 (GBP20) per hour for the time they worked in his studio. Their lawyer BERT DEIXLER calls the lawsuit, "A meritless case which will be defended with vigour."
