Miley Cyrus stole the show at the Billboard Music Awards with an eye-catching outfit.

The 19-year-old star wore nothing but a gaping jacket and zebra-stripe heels at the event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last night (20.05.12) sporting a 1960s hairdo, as opposed to her usual straight tresses.

Miley was joined on the white carpet by singing rivals Katy Perry and Taylor Swift - who was named Billboard Woman of the Year and wore a semi see-through red dress.

Adele was the biggest winner on the night, taking home 12 prizes, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Pop Album for '21'.

Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was reduced to tears as she accepted an award for her late mother at the ceremony, and she said she felt ''blessed'' to have been a part of the singer's life.

She wept as she said: ''I really want to say thank you to everyone who supported us through it all.

''Not just from when it was good but when it was bad, too. Thank you for showing that much love, because she deserved it ... I'm just blessed to have been in such an incredible woman's life. There will never be another one, ever.''

Other winners on the night saw Katy pick up the Spotlight Award after tying Michael Jackson's record of having five number one hits from the same album, 'Teenage Dream', while Lil' Wayne was named Billboard Man of the Year.
